Tune in next week, August 4th, when I'll be joined in the sub-Bassment by none other than Misha.

You distract her, and I'll steal some of her records. ;)

This Friday, August 1, I'll be starting things off at a new club night here in Seattle, Boudoir. Residents Misha and Jeff Samuel were kind enough to ask me to open up for them in the 8-10 slot. It should be a fun weekly with a carnival theme, and sexy sexy house, tech-haus and electro rocking every Friday night. Details:

Boudoir
@ Contour, 807 1st Ave
$5 before 11pm, $10 after
8pm-2am
21+ w/ID

Great news! The Absolute Madman will be a guest on 11th Aug. This resident of the Institute of Sound Tricknology will be playing live laptop music, nicely influenced by hip-hop and techno in equal measures. Should be fantastic.

I'm very very pleased to announce that this coming Monday, the 28th of July, .sounding depth. will be hosting a guest appearance from MR. AFTERNOON. Continuing the latest run of supafly Seattle duos, MR. AFTERNOON (djn and zapan of the fourthcity collective) are going to be bringing an hour of collaborative aural narrative. Who knows what it'll sound like, or even how they'll make it. But be sure, it will be tasty indeed.

Wow. What a night. Iteration 3, Exit Loop, was a blast. The Artificial Limb Company was the perfect venue, the crowd was surprisingly big, and had a great vibe, and, most importantly, the music was killer. Inside, Bruno and Aron torched the already sweaty crowd with a wide range of all things techno, from abstract glitchyness, to almost proggy tranceyness (Sorry guys, but I swear there's an opportunity for you to license a track there to Sasha's next mix CD). These two make a great combo and compliment each other brilliantly. Safety Scissors was lounge-singer moderne. I felt like it took him a while to warm up and pick up the pace to where the crowd would resonate, but his abstract melodies won me over in the end. Sutekh was fantastic, causing me to involuntarily throw my arms and legs about like a spazz. Techfunkorama. Outside in the alley I caught Eddie played some beautiful music, including a wicked cover of "The Message" (who the hell was that woman?). Jake Elliott was accomplished as ever, and Misha, alley-curator-extraordinaire, played all the tracks I wish I owned. Too tired to stick it out for all the other fantastic acts, but that is testament to a great party - when you've been dancing like a man possessed for 4 hours, at my age, bed has a strong pull. Awesome, and big big thanks to Danceritual, Bent and Click for putting on the party of the year.

Not one but two, count 'em two, soundingdepths (or is that soundingsdepth) this week. Today sees me hitting the studio with a bag'o'housey stuff, nice midsummer choons for recovering from a long weekend. But then tomorrow, well, tomorrow I love you.

Bruno Pronsato, the tech-house alter ego of laptopper extraordinaire and subwoofer meltdown maverick Bobby Karate, will be joining me in the studio tomorrow (11am-1pm) to create a live set of all new material. He'll be bringing a pre-release copy of his new 12" which should be out on Orac in the next few weeks. Be the first to hear it. We'll also be talking up the Iteration show with Safety Scissors and Sutekh, at which he will be performing.

Also, he's kind enough to be bringing in a couple of CDs of his new live material to give away. Listen tomorrow from 11am-1pm to win.
